I guess, on a practical level, what you need to know about me is that I make stuff in what I’d call the “old-school apothecary” vein with a new-fashioned twist: seasonally crafted first aid supplies, and salves, various (delicious) body care products, as well as wellness-oriented elixirs, tinctures, teas and the odd culinary treat. I’m also a practicing herbalist, available for in-person wellness consultations in my hometown of Sacramento, CA. I love foraging, gardening and generally frolicking amongst the green things with my two kiddos, Avi and Eamon, (the awesomest apprentices ever).
My healing philosophy is pretty eclectic but overall I’d say it’s based on an ecological model of wellness. That means I tend to see the spectrum of our life experiences (physical, emotional, cultural) as well as the environments we inhabit, as the co-creators of our wellness (or lack thereof) and embrace healing as a relational process rather than an event. I don’t offer cures- instead, I hope to empower you to illuminate pathways towards your own unique vision of wellness and hopefully, to increase your experience of balance along the way.
My herbalism is firmly grounded in collaborative empowerment and though I see myself as a listener, a researcher, an educator, and a maker, I don’t identify as an “expert” per se. Instead, I try to be a perennially grateful learner about the healing powers of this amazing green world.
I’m an herbalist who walks alongside my clients, happy to share whatever knowledge and skills I’ve got, and excited to learn from you as well.
I am an Associate Herbalist with the American Herbalist Guild and a Professional Member of the American Botanical Council
